Did you know that 22nd October 2025 was International Stammering/Stuttering Awareness Day? One of our lovely young people consented to recording an interview about her stammer and the challenges it has presented.

This is one person's experience of a stammer, everyone's experience will be different. This interview is intended to give an insight into the challenges not as a comprehensive guide.
We hope to be able to continue with this series and highlight other disabilities/challenges in the next few months.

October had DLD (Developmental Language Disorder) Awareness as one it's highlights.

One of our parent carers wrote the words to a song to honour his daughter who has this diagnosis.

It is a hidden but common condition that effects understanding and the use of language.

Around 1 in 14 people have DLD.

This Dad wrote "Quiet Lightning" inspired by his daughter's journey, and to honour all the children who might have quiet voices , but whose hearts and minds are full of Lightning energy.

His lyrics were inputted into A.I. to create this song but please note it is copyrighted to the parent carer.
